Hi! I’m Jen (she/her)

I work with people who are struggling with difficulties of anxiety and/or depression that are getting in the way of them living the way they would like to. I have specific experience in working with long-term health conditions, particularly long COVID.

My main ways of working include cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), compassion focussed therapy (CFT), mindfulness and nutritional therapy. Each approach integrates well with the others resulting in either nutritionally-informed psychotherapy or psychologically-informed nutritional therapy. So, my unique blend of knowledge and skills means that I can attend, as needed, to both mind and body. Hence, Mind Body Therapies. I call my specific brand of therapy, Gut-led Psychotherapy™.

Other influences in my practice include positive psychology and the philosophical underpinnings of person-centred therapy, existential psychotherapy, lifestyle medicine and functional medicine. I enjoy philosophy, whimsy, play, and fantasy. I draw upon all these aspects of myself to meet you exactly where you are and help you do the same so that you can move towards to where and how you want to be.

You've not worked with a therapist like me. How do I know this? Because that's a bold statement, and I don't make those lightly. I know it because in over 10 years of working in primary mental healthcare in the British NHS (National Health Service), clients have said exactly this to me over and again. And beyond that, my friends say it to me. It baffles me a little because I'm just out here being my authentic self and championing others to be the same; I can't imagine and, wouldn't want to be, any other way. But I don't need to understand it for it to be true. I invite you to test everything I say to see if it is true for you.
